Trudy Williams

On the 10th August 2022, we lost our dear friend and colleague Trudy in a fatal car accident, Trudy was a fundamental part of setting up The Ajuda Foundation.

We want to ensure that her name is honored for many years to come in our work here at The Ajuda oundation, so we have set up The Trudy Williams Memorial Fund, and 100% of all money raised via this fund will be put back into the town of Maesteg where it will benefit the people where Trudy was raised and where here heart truly belonged.

We also have The Trudy Williams special recognition award held at the annual Mental Health and WellbeingWales Awards.

Trudy was so passionate about Mental Health; she would go out of her way to ensue people were ok.

She was a keen runner and every year she would take part in races to raise money for the mental health charity Mind. People would often ring our office asking for help and advice with their Mental Health and Trudy would quickly go through her list of advice and support contacts and give them details of the right person or organisations. She would then come off the telephone and cry because
she wondered if they would be ok.

This is just one example of how much she cared about people.Trudy genuinely cared about everyone she met, and I truly believe that she made us all better people just by being herself.

Restart a Heart Project

About this project

The Restart a Heart Project will be launched in the Community of Fairwater in Cardiff. The project will deliver CPR & Defib Workshops and Training that will benefit the people of Fairwater and its surrounding areas.

The Restart a Heart Project has been put together by The Ajuda Foundation and its volunteers. The project is mainly funded by money raised from The David Hill Memorial fund. The David Hill Memorial fund was set up by David’s Family after Dave, otherwise known to many as “Hilly” tragically lost his life after a sudden Cardiac arrest, on the 18th July 2022. Hilly was born and raised in Grangetown, Cardiff and later moved to Fairwater where he lived with his wife Deb’s. A loving father to his sons Rhys and Nathan and stepchildren Stacy, Amy, Cameron, Jack & Connor. Dave was also a loving grandad to 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Kaitlyn, Scarlett & Reuben. He spent most of his working life as a lifeguard training in CPR & Defib, so he was equipped to save the life of many others. Hilly was a much-loved friend of all those who met him, and a valued member of the local community. He always went out of his way to help others, and now we want to use his legacy to do exactly that. The Restart a Heart Project will train children & Adults in CPR and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

How the money will be spent

The aim of this project is to create an Army of “Hilly’s Heroes” and educate people to save lives by learning vital CPR skills, along with the safe use of an AED. This legacy project will not only benefit the
people of Fairwater but with more funds we can also help raise awareness of early CPR and the use of an AED throughout Cardiff and its surrounding areas, and eventually across communities throughout the Welsh Valleys too.
