Barchester’s Charitable Foundation awarded a grant to The Ajuda Foundation in 2023, and our project co-ordinator, Bobbie Allen, was invited to an grand event in June – The Tour de Barchester! Now in its third year, the Tour de Barchester is a challenging 4-day cycle ride covering 200 miles, visiting 14 Barchester care homes on the way. The Tour de Barchester is raising money exclusively for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Bobbie went along to Bryn Ivor Lodge in Castleton to welcome the cyclists as they passed through, and to let everyone know that the grant awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation contributed to The Purple Sunflower Project, providing crafting materials for our free mental health and wellbeing workshops in Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf. You can just see her at the back there, being looked after by one of the residents she met on the day!
