While much of the world seems to be winding down for the summer, we’re doing quite the opposite at the Ajuda Foundation. As the deadline approaches for nominating in the 2026 Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards, we’re ramping things up and giving ourselves an enormous amount of work to do during the hottest part of the year. It could be exhausting, but we’re a resilient bunch, and we keep going because we care about the remarkable individuals and organisations being nominated this year. Their commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing across Wales has been inspiring to read about, and reminds us just how much incredible work is taking place in communities throughout the country.
If you haven’t submitted a nomination yet, there’s still time. Nominations close at midnight on 20th July, so don’t miss the opportunity to recognise someone who is making a real difference.
Once the deadline passes, the real fun begins. Our judging panel will get to work, scouring through every nomination before settling into what has become something of a tradition: a good old-fashioned debate about who deserves to be named a finalist. It’s never easy. Every year we’re reminded that there are far more deserving people than there are trophies.
Then comes the next challenge: deciding on our winners, notifying finalists, making sure all the administration is completed, putting the finishing touches to the awards ceremony… and, of course, ensuring our MC has found the perfect frock for the day itself!
This year, there are 13 award categories, and every nomination helps us to celebrate the people who are making Wales a kinder, and more compassionate place to live.
So, if you’ve been meaning to nominate someone, consider this your friendly nudge.
Go on.
Do it.
Do it now.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards will be held on 9th October 2026. Nominations close at midnight on 20th July. Nominate here: The Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards 2026
